ESET NOD32 Antivirus, commonly known as NOD32, is an antivirus software package made by the Slovak company ESET. ESET NOD32 Antivirus is sold in two editions, Home Edition and Business Edition. The Business Edition packages add ESET Remote Administrator allowing for server deployment and management, mirroring of threat signature database updates and the ability to install on Microsoft Windows Server operating systems.NOD32 was created in the early 1990s when computer viruses were becoming increasingly prevalent.

Initially the program gained popularity with IT workers in Eastern European countries, as ESET was based in Slovakia. Though the program’s abbreviation was originally pronounced as individual letters, recent worldwide use of the program has led to the more common single-word pronunciation, sounding like the English word nod. The company reached its 5000th update to virus definitions on April 5, 2010.On March 10, 2010 ESET released ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server, which contains both antimalware and antispam modules. It supports Microsoft Exchange 5.5, 2000, 2003, 2007 and 2010.

Nero Burning ROM, commonly called just Nero, is an optical disc authoring program for Microsoft Windows by Nero AG (formerly Ahead Software).[1] As of version 6, the program has been a part of Nero software suite. Nero Linux offers the support for Linux.

Nero Express, a simplified edition of Nero Burning ROM targeted for entry-level customers, is also available with Nero software suite. Although Nero Express is not as powerful as the full-featured Nero Burning ROM, it features a more streamlined user interface that appeals to most users and offers a broader range of features than those offered by Windows. Nero Express is also integrated into Nero software suite, especially into OEM editions of this software which lack Nero Burning ROM.

Skype (pronounced /ˈskaɪp/) is a software application that allows users to make voice calls over the Internet. Calls to other users within the Skype service are free, while calls to both traditional landline telephones and mobile phones can be made for a fee using a debit-based user account system. Skype has also become popular for its additional features which include instant messaging, file transfer, and video conferencing. Skype was developed by Estonian developers Ahti Heinla, Priit Kasesalu and Jaan Tallinn, who had also originally developed the peer-to-peer file sharing software Kazaa. Skype Limited, the company that operates Skype, was founded in 2003 by Niklas Zennström, Sweden, and Janus Friis, Denmark, with headquarters in Luxembourg. eBay acquired Skype Limited in September 2005 and in fall of 2009 sold a majority stake to an investor group.

Home computers were a class of personal computers entering the market in 1977, and becoming increasingly common during the 1980s.[1] They were marketed to consumers as accessible personal computers, more capable than video game consoles. These computers typically cost much less than business, scientific or engineering-oriented desktop personal computers of the time, and were generally less powerful in terms of memory and expandability. However, a home computer often had better graphics and sound than contemporary business personal computers. Usually they were purchased for education, game play, and personal productivity use such as word processing.

Advertisements for early home computers were rife with possibilities for their use in the home, from cataloging recipes to personal finance to home automation,[2][3][4] but these were seldom realized in practice. If no packaged software was available for a particular application, the home computer user was required to learn computer programming; a significant time commitment many weren’t willing to make. Still, for many the home computer offered the first opportunity to learn to program.[5]

The line between ‘business’ and ‘home’ computer market segments has blurred, since the computers typically now use the same operating systems, processor architectures, applications and peripherals. Another change from the home computer era is that the once-common endeavour of writing one’s own software programs has almost vanished from home computer use.[6]
